For a woman, lingerie is more than a mere undergarment. Elegant, sexy, good-fitting and flattering, lingerie is the hidden trove of intimate luxury that makes every woman, no matter her size and shape, feel confident and comfortable in her own skin.
A woman’s lingerie is the delicate article of clothing that frames and conceals her most intimate body parts. It is like the gift wrapping on the body, framing and pampering the natural female anatomy, all of its curvature and suppleness.
Style and Shape
Essential lingerie pieces in a woman’s wardrobe are the base to a good outfit and provide two functions: enhancement and mood. These are accomplished through the shape and style of the garment. The cut, shape, coverage and fabric of the lingerie nips, tucks, flatters, controls, lifts, supports and subtly enhances her assets to make her look her very best in outerwear. The style of the lingerie reflects and adds confidence, mood and character to the woman who wears it.
No wardrobe should be missing these lingerie basics:
A high quality sexy bra matching bra and panty set. This is an indulgence for every woman and is worn for an extra boost. Choose the bra shape your chest needs: support, lifting, push up, add a cup, and match it with a set of bottoms that compliments your lower half: brief, thong, bikini, boy cut, or g string.
A seamless bra and panty - when you can’t show lines through your t-shirts or skirts, opt for the seamless set. Perfect for general lounging and casual wear, seamless styles don’t show under tight fitting shirts or delicate materials.
The convertible bra - the convertible bra is even better than the strapless variety. You can wear the straps dozens of different ways to fit virtually any top or dress you have. Changing the straps still guarantees lift and support, something not always promised with the standard convertible bra.
Body Shaping bodysuit - this secret weapon helps create a perfect shape instantly. Every woman needs a bodyshaping bodysuit for her less than perfect days. The right bodyshaper will nip and tuck, and sculpt your silhouette. A bodyshaper is not only for slimming purposes, but can add curves and shape if you need it – it also looks sensational and untraceable under a slinky dress.
A corset or bustier - weapons of mass seduction, they double as casual evening outerwear and look enviably sensual as lingerie when paired with a garter belt. Be sure to choose a fitted but not too rigid style for instant sexiness.
Fun Styles
Lingerie comes in all sorts of fun fabrics, styles, colours and prints and the choices are as infinite as the number of women who wear them. A feminine woman may love florals, bows and roses in pastels, pinks and lilacs. A dominant, confident woman might be drawn to blacks and purples, and mesh or sheer fabrics. A vixeny woman may choose cashmere or shiny satin panties and stockings to match in ruby red or leopard print. Pick lingerie that suits the woman who you are and the attitude you want to convey.
Summer vs Winter
Lingerie requires a change from season to season. Winter is all about warmth, however women don’t necessarily need to sacrifice sexiness for the season. Choose embroidery, knits, heavier seasonless cottons, lycra and silk, which show warmth in the winter, and in darker autumn jewel tones and blacks. Winter is also the season of tight-busted corsets. Summer is all about easy, breezy coolness, so opt for lighter cottons, mesh, satin, thin silks, and laces in this season. Summer is also time for sleek teddies, tropical shades, pastels and vibrant prints.

Choosing an engagement ring is a big, fun decision. There are enough choices available to suit practically any personal style. One type of ring you may not have noticed is a rose gold ring and it might be exactly the right look for you! Rose gold is also sometimes called pink gold or red gold and the shade varies depending on how ring is made.
Pure gold is much too malleable for making jewellery, so all gold used to make rings is mixed with some other type of metal in order to make it stronger. What is used to create that stronger alloy will change the colour of the gold. Palladium, nickel, silver and copper are commonly used. The dark, reddish colour of copper is what gives rose gold it's lovely pink tint.
Coloured gold seems to go in and out of fashion, so if you are a trend-follower you may want to be cautious in your choice. Most people wear their engagement rings as part of the wedding set, so you want something you will love for the rest of your life. If you are looking for something unique and romantic, you should consider rose gold.
Delicate filigree rings are often made of rose gold, as the pink colouring and intricate designs work well together. Celtic and Claddaugh rings also incorporate rose gold and offer unusual and interesting options for engagement rings. Inlaid designs also sometimes incorporate rose gold. If you want an engagement ring that is uniquely yours, rose gold is certainly an option.
Rose gold is not as popular as yellow or white gold, therefore, it can sometimes be difficult to find. If you like the look, with its subtle, romantic colour, you may want to investigate antique rings, independent jewellers or consider having a ring custom designed for you. Should you decide you want rose gold incorporated into your ring, but you don't want a completely pink ring, a customized ring would allow the jeweller to use rose gold to create the setting for your diamond, or to use it around the edges of the ring or as part of an inlay.
Although copper is not an expensive metal, the rarity of rose gold can make it a bit more costly. Should you choose to have your engagement ring custom designed it will cost more as well. However, you are investing in a piece of jewellery you will wear for many years so it would be wise for it to be beautiful, symbolic of your feelings and worthy of the test of time.

Naomi and Gisele were discovered in a shopping mall. Claudia was a dancing queen when a talent scout saw her in a night club. Christy was riding a horse, Nadja Auermann was in a cafe and Elle Macpherson had to go on holiday to be discovered.
As you can see, if you wanted to become a supermodel you had to get out there. Things changed a lot since then because now you can be discovered in a comfort of your own home! So if you dream of becoming a model, NEXT and SELECT model agency are giving you a chance here and now.
IMPORTANT:
The competition is open to girls and guys aged 18 or over who permanently live in the UK. There will be TWO winners. They will each enjoy a £2000 spree at NEXT, the chance to start in the NEXT photo shoot, plus an introduction to the leading model agency, SELECT.
To enter, you need to complete an entry form at facebook.com/next and upload a recent fully clothed and un-retouched photo of yourself. The deadline for the entry is 6 July 2010.
The top 100 will be chosen by public vote and treated to a glamorous party on 30 July 2010.
Those of you who’ve been following newfashiontodayblog for a while, probably remember that I have a soft spot for pretty cups and tableware, so when I was offered to tell you about a company who sells these (and many more) things I was too tempted to resist. CSN online shops are like an on-line mega superstore where you can spend hours and hours browsing and choosing beautiful pieces for your home, from tiny additions like cutlery, pretty cups and coasters to more substantial ones like furniture and lights.
Needless to say that my first stop was in the tableware section where I was happy to find my favourite Guzzini babies (these cups are super adorable and make me smile every time I use them) and Le Creuset cookware (LOVE the orange pieces) that are now a part of my kitchen and make my cooking hours even more enjoyable.
What I also liked about this particular store is that it has something for every style, from classics to art-deco to shabby chic to super modern. The furniture and lights can also suit every taste and budget.
Sounds good, right? Now the best part or the actual giveaway. :) CSN kindly offered to give voucher to one of my lucky readers from UK, USA, CANADA or GERMANY. The value of the gift voucher is 30 in a currency of your country.
All you need to do is to visit CSN UK, CSN USA/CANADA or CSN GERMANY and leave a comment here saying what your dream buy would be. The giveaway closes in 7 days and the winner will be picked on Monday 21 June 2010 with a help of random.com IMPORTANT: unless you choose a “FREE DELIVERY” item you still need to cover P&P costs.
Good luck, darlings!!!
